Biography: Ute Complojer
The artist Ute Complojer, daughter of the painter Rudolf Maria Complojer and granddaughter of the painter Rudolf Complojer, was born on 28 September in Bozen. She has two children and has lived in her home town for most of her life.
At the age of eighteen Complojer went to art college in Florence to study the restoration of paintings made from wood and canvas. One year later Complojer went to work as an artist in a Paris atelier in order to specialise in the various techniques of restoration. In addition to her main line of work, she also began to create pieces of art such as etchings, watercolors, handpainted tiles and glazings, Christmas cards, a variety of gifts and illustrated picture books. Complojer has exhibited her works all over Italy and over time has become reknown for her creations, which illustrate the traditions and joys of life in a simple and honest style. In this sense, Ute Complojer takes various jobs, such as the design of boxes for the company Loacker, watercolors and drawings for privates customers or companies. Since for some years she gives lessons in elementary and middle schools, as well as painting classes in her painting studio.
